A_pretty_straight_forward_rock_song_to_play,_it’s 

pretty_much_all_power_chords_(Or_5th_chords,_to_be 

technical...)_As_with_most_Pearl_Jam_stuff_there_is 

lots_of_harmonising_going_on_between_the_different 

guitars_and_the_Bass._During_the_intro_Mike_McCready 

is_playing_what_sounds_like_a_flatted_2nd_over_the_B, 

but_I_couldn’t_find_a_good_way_of_replicating_this 

with_just_one_guitar,_any_suggestion_welcome!_Also, 

in_the_bridge_section_(A,_G,_F#,_E_“Wanna_leave_it 

all…”)_Jeff_Ament_is_holding_down_the_chords_that_I 

have_listed,_while_Stone_seems_to_be_playing_more_of 

an_ascending_riff,_however,_the_bass_is_definitely_the 

dominant_chord_and_the_one_that_sounds_best_(to_me 

anyway)_when_played_with_one_guitar._Again,_any_ideas 

are_welcome._Also,_what_I_have_suggested_in_the_chorus 

playing_a_E5/G_is_representative_of_a_bass_riff,_but 

sounds_good…_If_you_listen_carefully_the_bass_also 

plays_an_A_sometimes,_so_if_you_have_flexible_fingers 

you_might_be_able_to_get_your_little_finger_onto_the 

5th_fret_(without_muting_the_A_string!)_Do_what_you 

like! 

 
 

On_the_intro_I_play_a_barred_B_and_A_chord,_with_index 

and_little_finger._I_mute_the_bass_string_with_the_top 

of_my_index_finger_and_the_treble_string_with_my_little 

finger._I_find_that_if_I_play_the_full_chord_(ie:_add 

in_the_treble_string)_it_doesn’t_fit_with_the_5th 

chords_later_on_in_the_riff.
